Dwight Howard to Participate in Sprite Slam Dunk Contest

Orlando’s Dwight Howard will participate in the 2007 Sprite Slam Dunk competition to be held on NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by EA SPORTS™, Feb. 17 at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

New York’s Nate Robinson will defend his crown and compete against three first-time entrants – Howard, Boston’s Gerald Green, who is an alumnus of the NBA Development League, and Chicago’s Tyrus Thomas – for this year’s title.

“I am very excited to compete in the Sprite Rising Stars dunk contest,” said Howard. “I have some tricks up my sleeve. Hopefully my legs will be fresh and things will go the right way.”
